For over four decades, Dan Michaels has been the voice that brings stories to life, events to center stage, and communities together. But Dan is more than just a voice—he’s the heart behind the microphone, connecting with audiences through authenticity, warmth, and a dedication to storytelling that goes beyond soundwaves.

A Legacy in Broadcasting

Dan’s journey began at just 15 years old, launching a career in radio and television that has spanned 45 years. A graduate of Valley City State University (Class of 1985), he has left an indelible mark on North Dakota’s airwaves, with 39 years of experience in Fargo alone. From hosting telethons and public service campaigns to serving as Sports Director for Fargo’s NBC affiliate, Dan has mastered the art of communication in virtually every format.

The Voice of the Bison & Beyond

For 26 seasons, Dan has been the stadium announcer for the 18-time National Champion NDSU Bison Football Team, as well as the stadium announcer for North Dakota State Men’s and Women’s Basketball. His presence extends beyond the game, hosting premier events such as:

• North Dakota State University Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet
• ND Bankers Association Annual meeting
• Fargo and Moorhead Park District’s Annual Ice Shows
• The American Advertising Federation’s “Addy” Awards
• Fargo North Spartan Hall of Fame Ceremonies
• FMWF Chamber of Commerce “Voices of Vision” Banquets ( Dan was thrilled to host and interview one of his heroes Terry Bradshaw plus Danica Patrick, and Peyton Manning)

After decades in broadcasting, Dan turned his expertise into his own production studio, Dan Michaels Audio, founded in 2006. His rich, versatile voice has been featured in projects ranging from local and regional productions to nationally broadcast programming, including voicing the nationally broadcast  Ed Schultz Show. (God bless your soul Ed) His work has even reached international audiences, further proving that great storytelling knows no boundaries.

A Voice with Purpose: Giving Back to the Community

Dan’s impact goes far beyond the microphone. As President of the non-profit Christmas Gift Program, he has helped raise over $3 million for those in need during the holiday season. His commitment to service has earned him numerous honors, including:

Additionally, Dan serves as Vice Chairman of the Foundation Board of Directors for the Girls and Boys Ranch of North Dakota, further showcasing his dedication to making a difference.

Beyond the Mic: Family, Fun & The Beatles

When he’s not behind the microphone, Dan enjoys “glamping” with his wife, Patty, a respected leader in Internal Auditing with a major insurance company. Together, they share their home in South Fargo with Gabby, the cat in charge. A lifelong Beatles fan (Yeah Yeah Yeah!), Dan finds inspiration in music, storytelling, and the connections that make life extraordinary.
